The New Mexico Department of Health reports the state’s first two human cases of West Nile virus infection in 2018 have been confirmed in a 43-year-old man from San Juan County and a 71-year-old woman from Doña Ana County. Both cases required hospitalization. « read more »
The New Mexico Department of Health is reporting a case of plague in a dog from Santa Fe County. This is the first case of plague in New Mexico this year. An environmental investigation will take place at the dog owner’s home to look for ongoing risk to others in the surrounding area. « read more »
