Department of Health’s State Veterans’ Home Hosts Veterans Day Ceremony
The New Mexico Department of Health’s State Veterans’ Home, 992 S. Broadway in Truth or Consequences, NM will be host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony, on Monday November 11th. The ceremony will start promptly at 10 a.m. All veterans, their families and community members are welcome to attend.
Guest speakers for the event will be state Rep. Rebecca Dow and Chief Warrant Office 5 Robert “Bob” Rangel. Hot beverages and pastries will be served in the front lobby beginning at 8:30 a.m. and tours of the facility will be held at 9:00 a.m. and end at 9:45 a.m.
The New Mexico State Veterans’ Home ( NMSVH) is a state-of-the-art facility located on sixteen picturesque acres in Truth or Consequences which provides long term, sub-acute, memory care, and assisted living care for any honorably-discharged veteran, their spouses, or parents of veterans killed in combat action. The facility offers 135 nursing home and ten assisted living beds.
The NMSVH has also recently added a 59-bed expansion project to include a 39-bed Alzheimer's unit, a 20-bed Skilled Nursing Unit, a new rehabilitation section for inpatient and outpatient services which includes a new pool for aquatic therapy.
