Belen public health office provides back-to-school vaccinations
BELEN, NM – The New Mexico Department of Health’s (NMHealth) Belen Public Health Office at 617 Becker Ave. in Belen, NM will be providing no cost back-to-school vaccinations for all children aged 18 and younger regardless of whether they are a patient or have insurance at the following dates and times:
- Tuesday, July 9, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
- Monday, July 15, 9 a.m.- 7 p.m.
- Tuesday-Friday, July 16-19, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
- Monday, July 22, 9 a.m.- 7 p.m.
- Thursday-Friday, July 25 –26, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
- Saturday, July 27, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
- Monday-Friday, July 29-Aug. 2, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
- Tuesday-Friday, Aug. 6-9, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
- Saturday, Aug. 10, 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.
- Monday, Aug. 12, 9 a.m.- 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, Aug. 13, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
- Thursday, Aug. 15, 11 a.m.- 4 p.m.
- Friday, Aug. 16, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Walk-in’s welcome if staff are available, but appointments preferred. Contact the Belen Public Health Office at (505) 864-7743 for more information or with any questions.
In addition, dental screenings and fluoride varnish will be offered on a walk-in basis Monday July 15 and Friday July 26.
Parents need to bring their child’s shot record and Medicaid or private health insurance card if they have insurance, even though immunizations are provided at no cost to parents. No one will be turned away if they don’t have insurance.
To get a copy of your or your child’s vaccinations record, visit VaxViewNM.org to download a copy or contact the New Mexico State Immunization Information System Help Desk at 1-833-882-6454 for assistance. Immunization program hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. M-F, closed 12 to 1 p.m. for lunch. Callers may also leave a voicemail and receive a call back.
The vaccinations are available through the Got Shots? immunization campaign organized by the New Mexico Immunization Coalition, which includes the New Mexico Primary Care Association and the Department of Health. This year, more than 75 community health centers, public health offices, and private practices across New Mexico are participating in Got Shots?
