The New Mexico Youth Risk and Resiliency Survey (YRRS) is a survey of risk behaviors and resiliency (protective) factors among public middle and high school students in New Mexico. The NM YRRS is a part of the national Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) designed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The YRRS was implemented in the fall semester of the 2007-08 school year. All public school districts in New Mexico were invited to participate in the 2007 YRRS. Of 89 districts statewide, 76 districts participated. From each participating school district, schools with students from 9th to 12th grades were selected to participate.
