New Nurse Calls Truth or Consequences Home
The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) Sierra County Public Health Office in Truth or Consequences, NM welcomes nurse Amanda Clawson to the public health team.
Clawson comes to Truth or Consequences from Gallup, NM with years of experience providing medical/surgical, urgent care, pediatric services, and case management.
“I enjoy working with public health,” Clawson said. “It reaches out and provides a service to the community and often a service that would not have been met otherwise.”
The Sierra County Public Health Office, located at 201 East 4th Street is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The office provides a full slate of public health services, including:
- Harm reduction: such as needle exchange and Narcan
- Immunizations for children and some adults.
- Family Planning Services: birth control, annual visits/PAP Smears, pregnancy tests, and more
- Screening and Treatment for Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)
- Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening
- Health Promotions
- Woman Child and Infant (WIC) services, Children’s Medical Services (CMS) and Community Wellness through its Southwest Pathways program.
