NMDOH Appoints Mark Orgeron as Executive Director for Care Operations
Will spearhead improvements to NMDOH care facilities
Santa Fe--The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) on Wednesday announced the appointment of Mark Orgeron as Executive Director for Care Operations. Mr. Orgeron will supervise all NMDOH care facilities including nursing home care, physical rehabilitation, treatment for substance misuse, adolescent residential treatment centers, mental health treatment, and habilitation for intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“DOH is pleased that Mark has chosen to lend us his talents,” said DOH Secretary Dr. Tracie Collins. “I’m confident that he will make a significant difference in the lives of thousands of New Mexicans.”
With decades of experience in operations leadership, Orgeron utilizes his strategic problem-solving skills in order to foster collaborative environments and successfully accomplish mission-critical deliverables. Mr. Orgeron's dynamic leadership style stems from his time in the Office of the Provost at the University of New Mexico (UNM) and from his previous position as Senior Special Projects Coordinator at NMDOH.
Orgeron holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Sacramento State, and a Master of Science in both Global & National Security and Sports Administration from UNM. Currently, he is working towards his PhD in Teacher Education, Educational Leadership, and Policy at UNM.
