New WIC Satellite Office Opened in Santa Fe


Today, the New Mexico Department of Health’s Women, Infants, and Children program (WIC) opened a new satellite office in Santa Fe at 605 Letrado Street Appointments at the new office are now being accepted and the location will be open the second Tuesday of every month.

WIC is a special supplemental food program for women, infants and children. It is a federal program administered by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service, and the New Mexico Department of Health. WIC serves infants and children from birth to age five and pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, providing an individualized prescription of healthy supplemental foods, nutrition education, and medical and social service referrals to participating families.

WIC services approximately 1,985 clients in Santa Fe County per month.
