Changes for Two Albuquerque Public Health Offices

February 26, 2016 - Public Health - Information

Photo of the location. The New Mexico Department of Health announced today that it is increasing clinical capacity at the South Valley Health Commons, 2001 El Centro Familiar SW. The Department also announced that it is closing the Alamosa Public Health Office, 6900 Gonzales Road SW, due to underutilization.

The Alamosa Public Health Office, which primarily offered immunizations and family planning services, was co-located with First Choice Community Healthcare, a low income health clinic. First Choice Community Healthcare has agreed to provide services to clients who utilized the Alamosa Public Health Office. Other options for services include the South Valley Health Commons office (located less than five miles away) and the Midtown Public Health Office, located at 2400 Wellesley Dr NE.

Please visit our Public Health Offices page for a complete list of public health offices.

Services are no longer being provided at the Alamosa Public Health Office. All clients who had appointments at this location have been notified, and if necessary the appointments have rescheduled at other locations. Staff from the Alamosa Public Health Office has been reassigned to the South Valley Health Commons office.
