Two Hantavirus Cases in McKinley County December 8, 2016 - Zoonotic Diseases - Disease

The New Mexico Department of Health announced today a 59-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both from McKinley County, have been confirmed to have hantavirus pulmonary syndrome. These are the seventh and eighth cases in New Mexico in 2016. Both patients are hospitalized. « read more »

Investigating Cases of Legionnaires’ Disease December 2, 2016 - Emerging Infections - Disease

The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) is investigating a cluster of Legionnaires’ disease cases. NMDOH has identified six patients from Chaves County with confirmed Legionnaires’ disease since the first week of October 2016. « read more »
