The purpose of this report is to identify the problem, as well as the risk factors associated with violent death in the state. Data collection began on January 1, 2005. Information is collected on all incidents involving at least one violent death. All violent deaths of New Mexico residents, and also violent deaths of non-residents that occur in the state, are included.
