Infectious Disease Surveillance Program
The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) Epidemiology and Response Division (ERD) is responsible for directing investigations of specified infectious diseases and outbreaks that may impact the public. NMDOH staff, including those with clinical licenses, epidemiologists, disease prevention specialists, and others coordinate investigations with partners from other state agencies, local environment departments, tribal nations and agencies that serve them, healthcare personnel, healthcare institutions, schools, day care centers, and others as indicated.
The ERD Infectious Disease Surveillance Program consists of a team of epidemiologists conducting daily surveillance of notifiable conditions and other conditions of public health importance for the entire State of New Mexico.
Please use the Notifiable Condition Reporting Form for reporting notifiable conditions to the New Mexico Department of Health (fax the report to (505) 827-0013).
Please refer to Notifiable Conditions and Diseases in New Mexico for guidance on reporting notifiable conditions.
