American College of Surgeons Trauma Program

Since 1922, when it formed a Committee on Fractures, the American College of Surgeons has waged a continuous effort to improve care of injured patients. Today our trauma activities are administered through our 83-member Committee on Trauma, overseeing a field force of more than 3,500 Fellows working to develop and implement meaningful programs for trauma care in local, regional, national, and international arenas. We strive to improve the care of injured patients before, during, and after hospitalization. Our trauma-related activities—aimed at education, advocacy, professional development, standards of care, and assessment of outcomes—are disseminated through a variety of programs and subcommittees. If you’re a trauma care professional, learn more about all that American College of Surgeons trauma programs has to offer you, your trauma center, and the patients you serve.
