Welcome to the training section, where you have access to the wide variety of training that Developmental Disabilities Supports Division (DDSD) offers. Please continue reading for a list of training types and their intended audiences.
Autism Supports Training
DDSD partners with the University of New Mexico (UNM) on autism programs to provide an array of Autism Supports Training and professional development opportunities to professionals working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and to family members. Training is available both online, through workshops and at an annual conference and summer institute. Links to national online training resources are also provided.
Behavioral Support Services Training
The bureau of Behavioral Supports Training mission is to provide a competent workforce through the training and technical assistance for the providers that the Bureau of Behavioral Support administers: Behavior Support Consultation (BSC), Crisis Supports, Preliminary Risk Screening & Consultation (PRSC), and Socialization & Sexuality Education (SSE).
Clinical Services Training
The Clinical Services Training section provides training requirements for Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Language Pathologists.
Developmental Disabilities Waiver Training
The Developmental Disabilities Waiver Training section provides educational information for Developmental Disabilities Waiver service providers and stakeholders about important programmatic information and system or procedural changes.
Family Infant Toddler Program Training
The Family Infant Toddler (FIT) program partners with the University of New Mexico Early Childhood Network to provide an array of Family Infant Toddler Training and professional development to Family Service Coordinators, Developmental Specialists and other early intervention practitioners, through both classroom workshops and online training modules. Information is also provided regarding the certification process for Developmental Specialists. Online training is available on FIT-KIDS (Key Information Data System).
Partners for Employment Collaborative
The Partners for Employment provides training, technical assistance and outreach to improve employment outcomes for New Mexicans with developmental disabilities.
Training Unit
The Training Unit provides core curriculum training for Case Managers, Service Coordinators, Direct Support Professionals, and Direct Support Supervisors who work with individuals on the DD Waiver. You can also find information about Technical Assistance, Train-the-Trainers for DDSD core curriculum, as well as the Self-Advocacy Project.
