Purpose: The NM Grown Golden Chile Awards represent a fantastic opportunity to recognize and celebrate the innovative and dedicated NM Grown food producers who are bringing NM Grown foods to young children, students, and seniors across the state.

New Mexico Grown (NM Grown) is a program that serves K-12 students, older adults in senior centers, and early childhood education sites across New Mexico by incentivizing the purchase and distribution of locally grown fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, and meat products for meal and snack programs. The program also provides significant economic development opportunities for New Mexico's food producers through the development of a robust wholesale market serving public institutions.
