Application Process for Licensing of MCP Non-Profit Producers
Today the New Mexico Department of Health opened the Request for Applications (RFA) period for the licensing of non-profit producers for the Medical Cannabis Program.
Currently there are 23 Licensed Non-Profit Producers (LNPP) in the Program, which are located throughout the state. No new LNPPs have been added since 2010.
Applications and information can be obtained from the Medical Cannabis section of our website.
Questions from applicants need to be submitted as per the instructions in the RFA.
The Department will accept applications until 4:30 p.m. MDT on May 1st.
The Department also finalized rule changes for the Medical Cannabis Program in February. The new rules were published on February 27th in the New Mexico Register. The Department increased the maximum number of plants that an LNPP can grow from 150 to 450.
The changes are made to increase the availability of medical cannabis to qualified patients in the Medical Cannabis Program. Currently, there are 20 qualifying conditions to get in the program and 13,310 patients.
